Time Warner Streaming Hits Snag on iPad

This is the kind of ridiculous infighting that slows the advancement of cool technology to a crawl.

Time Warner has a new iPad app that lets subscribers stream TV live on their tablets.

Dan Fromer reports the cable giant is being hit with cease and desist orders from the networks.

It’s not unexpected, after all Google’s ambitious plans for web TV were blocked by the networks, who are hoping to wrangle additional licensing fees.

But as Hulu CEO Jason Kilar recently pointed out, during his Jerry Maguire moment, Hulu ad rates are climbing fast and will soon equal cable rates.

So why not just accept the inevitably of the universal screen, sell some ads against your shows and let’s all get on with it.
