A reader passed along the following invitation from FriendFactor, a new gay rights group which will be making a big splash in New York next month with Chelsea Clinton headlining its first fundraiser.
Besides Ms. Clinton, the host committee includes a number of the leading lights from the local LGBT world, including former Republican National Committee chairman Ken Mehlman, former Empire State Pride Agenda executive director (and current deputy to Comptroller John Liu) Alan Van Capelle and former David Paterson aide Charle O’Byrne.
FriendFactor is a social media experiment designed to get the straight allies of LGBTers enlisted in marriage equality and other civil rights efforts.
According to one LGBT activist, this is the first time that Chelsea Clinton has gotten involved in the push for gay marriage.
