Christie signs several bills into law

TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie signed the following bills into law Wednesday:

S1392/A2452 (Weinberg, Oroho/Vainieri Huttle, McHose) – Requires State-administered pension systems to train employers on enrollment requirements; requires employers to certify validity of employee enrollment with acknowledgement of penalty for providing false information

S1712/A3263 (Turner/Girgenti, Johnson) – Requires hospitals to report certain injuries to local and State police

S2465/A3587 (Gordon, Beach/Wagner, Vainieri Huttle, Greenwald, Lampitt) – Permits combination of voter petitions and application by municipal governing body for approval of Municipal Consolidation Study Commission by Local Finance Board

A3267/S2675 (Quijano, Ramos, Chivukula/Buono, Ruiz) – Provides for voluntary contributions by taxpayers on gross income tax returns to support the Boys and Girls Clubs in New Jersey

A2032/S1917 (Johnson, Coutinho, Evans/Gordon, Girgenti) – Permits certain members of Junior Firemen’s Auxiliaries to perform non-hazardous support duties at fire sites

S1833/A3462 (Pennachio/Johnson, Spencer) – Designates March 13 of each year as “K9 Veterans Day”

SJR12/AJR70 (Turner/Stender, Vainieri Huttle) – Designates March of each year as Women’s History Month in New Jersey

AJR56/SJR57 (Riley, Evans, McHose/Madden, Greenstein) Designates March of each year as “American Red Cross Month” Christie signs several bills into law
