Citgo off the hook

A judge ruled earlier this week that the oil giant is not responsible for the $177 million spent to clean up the Delaware River after a massive 2004 oil spill, the Associated Press is reporting.

More than 200,000 barrels of crude spilled into the river when a tanker nearing the Paulsboro dock hit a submerged anchor.  the spill polluted coastline in three states and stalled shipping.

it’s unknown who dropped the anchor that was responsible for the accident.
