Consolidating the layers of local government is one of the major goals of Andrew Cuomo’s administration (and was once the topic a statewide tour he undertook while attorney general).
Today he announced members of his commission that’ll study the issue. They include:
Denis Hughes, president of the NYS AFL-CIO
Michael Balboni, former state senator
Andrew Spano, former Westchester County Executive
Robert Zimmerman, public relations expert who served on the NYS Commission on Open Government
Recommendations by the committee are due June 1, 2012.
