The Senate Judiciary Committee approved the nominations of George Kolber and Steven Plofker to the N.J. Sports and Exposition Authority Thursday.
Chairman Sen. Nicholas Scutari, (D-22), Linden, asked Kolber about his role as a major political donor, and Kolber pointed out he had donated to members of both parties.
Scutari said the committee had received financials of 2009, but did not receive financials from 2010 yet, and Kolber said they will make sure a fully updated version is provided as soon as possible.
Scutari said that for example Kolber had donated $15,000 to the statewide GOP over five years, and $28,500 to the McCain presidential campaign.
A former American Eagle Outfitters executive, Kolber said, “I have been successful in turning around many troubled companies.”
