Earlier this year, Netflix announced a two-year, $200 million deal with CBS. Since then, it has been preparing to stream a slew of fantastic TV shows.
You can expect episodes from every iteration of Star Trek. The Twilight Zone, Cheers, Family Ties, The Andy Griffith Show, Hawaii Five-0, and Frasier are also part of the deal—and we’re excited to see Twin Peaks on the list. The complicating factor? Netflix is also setting itself up as a competitor to the TV and cable networks: Early next year, the service will host its first original series—an American adaptation of House of Cards, starring Kevin Spacey and directed by David Fincher. (The British original was a VSL pick in July 2009.) The networks aren’t too happy about Netflix’s long-term intentions—in a recent warning shot across the bow, CBS pulled some content from the site—but as of this writing, the $200 million deal is still on track for early April.
