Paterson Councilman Benjie Wimberly has submitted his name for the offfice of Assembly in the 35th District, according to Passaic County Democratic Committee Chairman John Currie.

Wimberly was the top vote getter in last year’s muncipal races. He heads up recreation activities for the Paterson School District and commands a deep reservoir of city contacts.

Shavonda Sumter, former campaign manager for Paterson Mayor Jeff Jones, and Domenick Stampone, mayor of Haledone, are two other candidates for one of two Assembly seats.
