Sounding not unlike Nick Kristof, Republican operative roger stone says Barack Obama’s achievement in the war on terror won’t guarantee him political cover for long.
When asked what he thought of the death of Osama Bin Laden, and whether that put Obama out of reach for his would-be Republican rivals, Stone, who is advising Donald Trump, emailed to say:
Obama get’s a temporary bump up in the polls. The election is 19 months away. High gas prices and unemployment will bring his numbers back down. George H.W. Bush won the Gulf War over a year before the election and got beat by a sour economy.
