TRENTON – The New Jersey Assembly unanimously passed A3777, which would push back the state’s presidential primary to June from February.
The vote was 75-0.
The measure was supported by both Democrats and Republicans, as a way to save as much as $8 million.
Assemblyman John Wisniewski, D-18, of Sayreville, said last week the move was largely a failure since so many other states had already moved their presidential primaries.
