U.S. Rep. Jared Polis of Colorado, the first openly gay man elected to Congress in 2008, will stump for the 11th Legislative District Democratic challengers at a reception at the Berkeley Hotel in Asbury Park on May 26th.
Those hosting the event include Hawthorne Democratic Chairman Jeff Gardner, 2012 Congressional Candidate Ed Potosnak, Blue Jersey blogger Jay Lassiter, NJ Stonewall Democrats President Babs Casbar Siperstein and Monmouth County Democrats Vice Chairwoman Amy Quinn as well as Tim Horn and Tom Manix, the architects behind the Unseat state Sen. Sean Kean movement.
Democrats are running attorney Ray Santiago for Senate and two business owners, Marilyn Schlossbach and Vin Gopal for Assembly against state Sen. Jennifer Beck (R-11), Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini of Ocean and Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande of Colts Neck.
