OLS predicts growth in sales tax

Office of Legislative Services Budget Officer David Rosen told the Assembly Budget Committee Tuesday that he predicts a 4 percent boost in sales tax revenue in the current and upcoming fiscal year.

Rosen called the sales tax the “most stable of the revenue sources.”

Rosen predicted that in the current fiscal year, sales tax collections would be up $11 million over the governor’s initial projections, while in fiscal year 2012, sales tax revenue would come in $21 million short of the governor’s estimates.  OLS predicts growth in sales tax
