North Plainfield educator Ed Potosnak filed today to run for Congress in the 7th District, setting up a potential Democratic Primary showdown between Potosnak and former Edison Mayor Jun Choi.
“I am filing to run for 2012,” Potosnak said. “I am very frustrated with the partisanship in Washington.”
Assuming – and that could prove a big assumption – that the district holds up after redistricting – the winner of Choi v. Potosnak would face incumbent U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Lebanon).
This would be Potosnak’s second run at Lance. Last year, the Democratic challenger earned 41% of the vote, losing to the incumbent Republican, who won 59%.
