Much to nobody’s surprise, Paul Sigmund, chief of staff to Trenton Mayor Tony, resigned from his job today.
Sigmund, who was busted for possession of heroin and assault on a police officer earlier this week after police found him wandering in a drug infested neighborhood of the city, issued the following statement:
“It’s with deep regret and sincere apology to both a wonderful man and a wonderful Mayor Tony Mack and to the people of Trenton that I resign my position as Chief of Staff to the City, so that I am not a distraction to Tony’s important work.”
Sigmund was in the job just seven weeks and had two brushes with law enforcement during his brief tenure. He is the latest Mack appointee to fall on hard times.
