Source: Rodriguez seat to be dormant

The 33rd District Assembly seat currently occupied by West New York Commissioner-elect Caridad Rodriguez will likely remain empty after Rodriguez relinquishes the seat to be sworn in as a local commissioner next Tuesday, a source close to the process told PolitickerNJ.com.

Deposited into a local race – which she won – following redistricting, Rodriguez is ready to burrow into West New York politics and give up her Trenton presence.

School Board member Angelica Jimenez is the Democratic Party nominee from West New York hoping to be sworn in next January as the assemblywoman from the newly forged 32nd District.
