WEST NEW YORK – Yes, there were already reports of fistfights at the middle school this morning, and cops stepped up security here on Election Day as we approach the midday point.
Both sides appeared tense early and unwilling to go public with voter trends.
“All I know is that as of 10 this morning, 1,400 people had voted – now what that means, it’s difficult to say, because they haven’t had a contested eelction here in 15 years,” said Tommy Bertoli, Jersey City resistance fighter turned West New York establishment mercenary and longtime friend of Mayor Silverio “Sal” Vega.
Challenger Felix Roque voted at 10 a.m. at a public housing complex across the street from his apartment.
“We’re going to win, and it’s not going to be close,” said Roque, who is up against the incumbent Vega.
