TRENTON – The Assembly passed, 58-11, with 8 abstentions, the bill that would prohibit hydraulic fracturing for natural gas in New Jersey.
Assemblywoman Connie Wagner (D-38) of Bergen County, said New Jersey needs to take a progressive stance to protect drinking water for the public.
Assemblyman Jon Bramnick also supported the measure, A3653, saying it would send a clear message on the state’s position.
The Senate already had approved the measure earlier today.
