TRENTON – Sen. Christopher “Kip” Bateman, (R-16), Somerset, this evening applauded the governor’s decision to abolish the Council on Affordable Housing (COAH).
“As the original sponsor of legislation to end the failed Council on Affordable Housing, I applaud the Governor’s decision today,” he said in a release. “By abolishing COAH, we are helping to protect municipalities from heavy handed state oversight, and duplicative government services.”
Earlier today, Gov. Christie announced an extensive administrative reorganization, the centerpiece of which is getting rid of COAH, the focus of lawsuits and legislation for years over how and where to provide affordable housing.
