Burlco GOP taps Keenan to run in LD7

Burlington County Republican Committee Chairman Bill Layton today said committee members representing the 7th Legislative District gathered on Saturday to tap Mount Laurel Mayor Jim Keenan to replace retiring Assemblyman Joe Malone (R-7) of Bordentown on a ticket with Sen. Diane Allen (R-7) and businessman Chris Halgas.

“We’ve always run very strong candidates for Assembly in the 7th District, but the voter registration disadvantage in the old district was tough to overcome,” said Layton.  “This year, though, is different.  The district is much more competitive politically; and with Senator Allen leading the ticket, with two very strong running mates, the Democrats are in real trouble.”
