Chiusano tries to send tax relief to school districts; motion fails

TRENTON – As the Assembly Budget Committee began to take votes on the proposed Democratic budget, Republican Assemblyman Gary Chiusano (R-24), of Augusta, made a motion for an amendment that would convert property tax relief in the Democrats’ FY12 budget – homestead credits and senior freeze – to instead be spread around all of the state’s school districts.

His motion was voted down by the Democratic majority on the committee.
