Cuomo Has Enough Votes to Pass Marriage in State Senate, Says Silver

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver moves the ball across the goal line, saying Cuomo “has apparently” the votes to pass same-sex marriage in the state senate.

Speaking to NY1, Silver said, “The governor has apparently gotten enough votes in the State Senate to have it passed in the state senate” and “He’s always said that he wouldn’t introduce the bill unless he knew the votes were there. And he’s at the point where he’s ready to introduce the bill. I take him at his word that the votes are there.”
