CWA Political Director Bob Master said communications workers are no closer today to accepting a compromise health benefits and pension plan forwarded by Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34).
“We haven’t seen it yet,” Master told PolitickerNJ.com.
According to news reports, Oliver’s plan would require public workers to contribute more to their healthcare and pensions but would sunset in 2014.
“Sunsetting the legislation is better than not,” said Master, “but we’re still talking about eliminating collective bargaining and saddling our workers with enormous costs.
“No,” he added. “We’re no closer to an agreement.”
