Dems’ budget proposal will aim to restore funding for UEZs, Medicaid, other programs

A source in the Assembly said this afternoon that the Democrats’ proposed budget would restore funding to some key programs.

The Democrats’ budget, which participants in a meeting of legislative leaders today said would be introduced Monday, would restore unspecified amounts of funding for Urban Enterprise Zones, Medicaid and nursing homes.

There is also a proposal to include $15 million for capital improvements at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University.

Democratic legislative leaders met for several hours today over elements of a budget they intend to introduce.
