Assemblyman Rory Lancman’s legislation requiring hotel workers who regularly enter guests rooms to wear “panic buttons” is advancing through Albany.

The Assembly Labor Committee is scheduled to vote on it this Tuesday. The Senate Labor Committee does not have any votes scheduled yet, according to their web site.

The legislation was introduced shortly after Dominique Strauss-Kahn was accused of sexually assaulting a maid at a posh hotel. Two hotels are already providing the panic buttons to employees. DSK-Inspired Legislation Moving in Albany
