Dunn rejoices as Cryan says record, not court, will be voters’ deciding factor

Challenging state Sen. Ray Lesniak (D-Elizabeth), LD20 challenger Jerome Dunn rejoiced today with state Supreme Court Chief Justice Stuart Rabner’s decision to thaw out his team’s campaign funds.

“I am pleased with the decision of the Supreme Court which lifted all temporary restraints and thus permits us to get our message out to the voters,’ said the assistant superintendent of Elizabeth Schools, a resident of Hillside.

“In this regard, the voters will be able to fairly consider the positions of all the candidates. The desperate effort by my opponent Lesniak to use the courts to cripple our campaign and stop free speech is over.  To quote Brenda Lee our campaign is ‘coming on strong.'”

Assembly Majority Leader Joe Cryan (D-20), a running mate of Lesniak’s, said Tuesday’s election will not hinge on the court.

“Our record is why we will win this election,” Cryan said. “Residents of the district know we are real Democrats who will continue to stand up to Chris Christie.”
