N.J. Fire and EMS Institute honors Sen. Allen

Sen. Diane Allen, (R-7) Edgewater Park, has been named Legislator of the Year by the New Jersey Fire and EMS Institute.

The award, conferred at the Institute’s 2011 Annual Dinner on Monday, honored Allen commitment to New Jersey’s first responders.

Allen said in a release: “It is humbling to be given this stamp of approval by the professionals who risk life and limb for the families of New Jersey.

“Just like every New Jerseyan, I’m grateful for the service these men and women provide to our communities. As a senator, I work hard to make sure that government, at all levels, is meeting their needs and giving them the tools necessary to protect our communities.

“We always count on them in times of crisis and they never let us down. I want to make sure they can count on me and the State to support them.”
NJ Fire and EMS Institute Chairman Carl Christensen said in the release: “Perhaps the strongest endorsements of Senator Allen came from our local members and affiliates in and around her district. So many of them cited something that she had accomplished for them, things that few outside of the local fire company or first aid squad would know about, but were of importance to them. This is the hallmark of a true servant of the public and friend of the first responder community.”
