A coalition of those opposing the proposed NJN/WNET deal presented fliers at this morning’s Assembly Budget Committee hearing to list problems with the governor’s plan.

Among other things, the opponents of the deal say WNET will become “a profit-making megastation tapping into this goldmine of potential contributors”;

* They said NJN is a service to the taxpayers, not a business that government should getting rid of;

* They questioned the politics of the deal, since Steve Adubato Jr., who will be producing coverage at the new entity, is the son of Essex County powerbroker Steve Adubato Sr.

* And they defended the integrity of current NJN employees who will be facing loss of their jobs.

They referred those interested to njnstaff@yahoo.com for more information on their position.
