After a four-hour meeting, Republican State Senate Leader Dean Skelos said his conference will continue to discuss whether or not to legalize same-sex marriage, in another meeting to be held tomorrow. He also did not commit to bringing the bill up for a vote before the end of session on June 20.
Skelos said he had a “thoughtful” meeting with his members, where they discussed “marriage equality” — the term used by advocates. “Discussions are going to continue,” and the issue “has not been resolved” he said.
When I asked him if they’ve committed to bringing the bill up for a vote, he said: “We haven’t resolved other than we’re going to continue” discussing it.
