TRENTON – The State Commission of Investigation will hold a public hearing this week on the changing dynamics of criminal drug-trafficking in New Jersey.
The hearing, scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Room 11 of the Statehouse Annex, will focus on prescription painkiller abuse as the leading edge of a possible new heroin epidemic.
SCI reported that testimony will be provided by a range of witnesses, including commission investigators and other law enforcement authorities, and confidential informants.
A live audio feed of the hearings will be available through the SCI’s Web site at www.state.nj.us/sci.
The SCI is an independent agency created in 1968 to investigate organized crime and corruption.
