Two dozen workers escorted out of hearing by police

About two dozen union members, including AFL-CIO President Charlie Wowkanech, were escorted out of the pension and benefits hearing by police after they stood in a sustained chant of “kill the bill.”

The workers, who had linked arms in a human chain, were taken out with their hands behind their backs, but its is not known if they were arrested.

The protest began just as CWA Political Director Bob Master had finished testifying against the bill.

Troopers were prepared for the protest and had lined up to the side of the workers, most of whom wore red t-shirts with a slogan favoring collective bargaining.
