Franck J. Moison has found a new bathroom to brush his teeth in. The chief operating officer of Colgate-Palmolive has just purchased a new three-bedroom co-op at 1148 Fifth Avenue.
Guests entering the 2,500-square-foot pad will be met with a “thirty-four foot long book-lined gallery into a wonderful open living room and dining room with wood burning fireplace,” according to Dee Downing‘s Corcoran listing. No phony fireplaces for Upper East Siders.
Mr. Moison paid a mere $3.83 million for the space, scrubbing the seller, Robert W. Gray, who originally listed the apartment for $5.95 million back in 2008.
The “glorious chef’s kitchen” was recently renovated—all the better for Mr. Moison to wash the dishes with his signature tough-on-grease, soft-on-hands soap—but many of the prewar details in the J.E.R. Carpenter beauty from 1923 remain intact.
