While there are all kinds of electronic readers out there, so far the market has been primarily divided between Barnes & Noble’s Nook (which overtook the Kindle in sales for the first time this past quarter) and Amazon’s Kindle, with the Sony e-reader in third place. Will this little number usurp the power structure? Annoyingly, you can only buy it at Target, so probably not. It goes on sale July 17.

We await the day when New York’s indie booksellers release their own e-readers, designed by engineering interns in a basement somewhere and sold exclusively at B&H.
