These high-profile apartments were sold this week to unnamed buyers hiding behind LLCs. If you have any tips on their true identities, be sure to email eknutsen@observer.com.
Philip G. Smith and Ann D. Schickhaus Smith have sold their Upper East Side brownstone for $10.5 million. The seven-bedroom home was purchased by 9 East 94th Realty LLC, which shares the property’s address. A listing by Brown Harris Stevens brokers Sallie Stern and Susan Bohan says the five-story house has been occupied by only four different families since its construction in 1893.
Meanwhile, Bruce Sherman and Dennis Carmen sold their Soho townhouse to an unnamed buyer for $5.79 million. The 4,600-square-foot Federal-era home located at 54 King Street was sold to Rima 54 LLC. The private back garden includes a full-sized heated swimming pool and features “rare Japanese landscaping details,” according to Douglas Elliman brokers Raphael De Niro, Lauren De Niro Pipher and Linda De Niro.
Finally, the anonymous Sunflower Buttercups Properties LLC (no joke) purchased a Trump Place apartment from Terry Maltese this week for $3.21 million. Halstead brokers Alexandra Loeb and Maria Cangiano claim the apartment is perfectly “suited for fine living & extraordinary entertaining.” Mr. Maltese has owned the apartment since 2003, when he purchased it for $2.225 million.
