July 1, 2011: Christie Used Jedi Mind Tricks on Democratic Leadership

July 1, 2011: Christie: ” Yes, I used Jedi mind tricks on Democratic Leadership Governor Chris Christie is getting praise nationally from those on the right for his recent accomplishment of pension reform and today his spokesman Michael Drewniak revealed just how the governor was able to gain the support of Democratic leadership so easily: “The Governor used Jedi mind tricks on Democratic president Steve Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver to get their support on pension reform. They came to his office a few weeks back, in full Democratic mode in support of labor—and the Governor waived his hand in front of their faces and said, “You will support pension reform. You do not support public workers unions.” According to Drewniak, “…at that point, Sweeney and Oliver each had a blank stare, and repeated, ‘I will support pension reform. I do not support public workers unions.” This is from 52 year old Jesse Goldblum of Metuchen, President of the New Jersey Star Wars Alive! Fan Club, “Jedi mind tricks work mostly on the weak willed. Should the trick succeed, he or she would then agree to what ever  the Jedi master suggested to them without being able to think for themselves. Mostly they would feel puzzled about what just happened, but would be too weak willed to change their mind.” We reached Mr. Goldblum at home, where he lives in his parents basement. Apparently, some are resistant to such Jedi mind tricks, “…usually older female Jewish legislators from Bergen County are strongly resistant, while almost any legislators from South Jersey are extremely susceptible to the Jedi mind tricks.”
