Vulture writer Amos Barshad is leaving New York for greener outfields at Bill Simmons’ sports-and-other-stuff site, Grantland. Mr. Barshad follows former Vulture editor Lane Brown, named the pop culture editor at the ESPN-owned site earlier this year.
“Amos will be contributing to Grantland’s pop-culture blog, Hollywood Prospectus. He’s a terrific, funny writer, and we’re excited to have him,” Mr. Brown told The Observer.
Grantland launched in June to mixed reviews from sports fans, enthusiasm from writers who like getting paid, and the unrelenting scrutiny of de facto rival Deadspin.
Star Grantland writers include Chuck Klosterman, Katie Baker and Colson Whitehead.
