While touring the state with a series of ceremonial bill signings for his tax cap legislation, Governor Cuomo is also taking the opportunity to frame the debate surrounding his next, and arguably most challenging fight yet.
After a group of lawmakers met this morning to start the process of redrawing the lines, Cuomo, near Syracuse, restated why he would veto whatever they come up with.
“I understand the assemblyman’s point that he wants to draw his own lines,” said Cuomo. “And everyone, you know, wants to draw their own lines defining their districts. I want to have lines drawn that represent the people of the state of New York .”
