Senate Dems have no luck with override of medical assistance cuts

TRENTON – The litany of failed veto override bids continued, as an attempt to restore $29.65 million for Medical Assistance recipients in nursing homes and related facilities failed 24-13.

The appropriation was reduced by the governor from $676 million to roughly $646.6 million.

Sen. Nicholas Scutari talked about the round the clock care some of these patients and recipients  need, generating much applause in the gallery, and said this is not a lot of money to restore when considering the good it does..
