The surgical spinal consultant for the New York Jets, Dr. Andrew Hecht, and wife Elana Laing just purchased a new home. Dr. Hecht is apparently gearing up for another big season, and decided to touch down on the Upper East Side on East 88th Street.
Given the prestigious title of “Super Doctor” by The New York Times, Dr. Hecht doesn’t confine himself to the gridiron but also offers his spinal services to the Islanders.
Dr. Hecht paid $3.6 million for an 11th floor co-op. The sellers, a Mr. Kenneth Citron and Ms. Leslie Citron, bought the pad back in 2004 for $2.45 million.
Details about the property are few and far between. Perhaps Dr. Hecht wants to keep his playbook close to his vest. The neighborhood is a primary draw to the classic pre-war building. Just a few feet from Central Park, Dr. Hecht can throw the old pigskin around (O.K.—we’ll stop) with his family whenever he so desires. In a listing for another apartment in the building, a broker notes that “the area, of course, provides all the amenities of a sophisticated New York lifestyle.”
