State Sen. Brian P. Stack’s, (D-33), Union City, favorite governor of all time threatened to drop a notch in Stack’s eyes when he red-lined $139 million in Transitional Aid.

But with Gov. Chris Christie’s announcement today that he would restore the funding, Stack fired off an applause line from Hudson County.

“I applaud Governor Christie’s commitment to restore funding for the Transitional Aid program,” Stack said. “Clearly, this commitment demonstrates that the Governor understands the needs of New Jersey’s cities. This proposed restoration is aimed at achieving bipartisan success for our urban areas. As we progress, residents of our urban communities can rest assured that funding will be available for essential operations.”
