Women’s health services bill withdrawn

TRENTON – A bill introduced just last week by Sens. Diane Allen, (R-7), Burlington/Camden, and Jennifer Beck, (R-12), Mercer/Monmouth  to appropriate up to $6.3 million to the Department of Health and Senior Services for women’s health services has been withdrawn.

The bill, S3003, which would have stipulated that none of the funds could be used for abortions, stated that the money would have come from revenues certified by the Governor as available but not appropriated.

In addition, the bill stated that no county could have received more than $300,000.

Neither Beck nor Allen could be reached immediately this morning for comment on why the bill was withdrawn. Women’s health services bill withdrawn
