Is Unit 4J at the Rushmore New York’s Poshest Apartment?

Knock, knock. (Getty)

We already know The Rushmore is the new 15 CPW, what with the arrival of Alex Rodriguez (maybe), violinist Pinchas Zuckerman and Robin Williams. Now that Mr. Williams has departed Broadway, where he was starring in Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, he leaves behind his $15,000-a-month apartment at Gary Barnett’s glassy palace overlooking the Hudson. And his replacement may not be as famous, but he is even falshier.

Matteo Battaini, C.E.O. of Pirelli North American, is taking over Mr. Williams’ lease after six months, according to The Real Deal. While he may sound like just another big-shot suit, Mr. Battaini is partly responsible for the inimitable Pirelli calendar, so we can expect quite a party. All that’s left to ask is: What is it about the Rushmore? There must be something in the blue-brown waters of the Hudson.

Correction: An earlier version of this article misspelled Pinchas Zuckerman’s given name.
