The duo used as a jumping off point comments by Rep. Allen West who said earlier that “you have this 21st Century plantation … where the Democrat party has forever taken the black vote for granted, and you have established certain black leaders who are nothing more than the overseers of that plantation.”

Rangel took issue with the word choice, and Ingraham replied, “I’m trying to figure out what words we can use and what words we can’t use,” she said.

“What do you mean can’t?” Rangel said.. “You’re confused whether or not you can use ‘plantation’ to a black Republican?”

The interview descends from there, with at one point Rangel referring to Ingraham as “just a pretty girl” and she needling him on his condo in the Dominican Republic.

At another point, Rangel concedes that President Obama has failed the inner city.
