MOUNT LAUREL – Gov. Chris Christie said today the Office of Legislative Services is “not giving us real numbers” when it comes to revenue projections.
He added, however, that his own Treasury Department‘s figures were off for the month of July.
“I hope it gets better,” he said.
Christie made the comments at a press conference here after he was asked why some arts project were shortchanged.
In customary fashion, Christie said he doesn’t have a pile of money lying around.
Treasury last week reported that for July, taxes collected fell more than $34 million short of projections.
During the budget battles in June, Democrats often cited the higher projections of OLS rather than the more conservative Treasury figures in making the case for their appropriations.
