French Culinary Institute Founder Dorothy Cann Hamilton’s $4.25 M. Maison

Bon apetit!

Et voila! Lucky residents of 160 West 66th Street will soon have their noses tickled by the sweet aromas of a master chef at work. The newest tenant of the Lincoln Center building is Dorothy Cann Hamilton, founder of the French Culinary Institute.

The 1,775-square-foot apartment features floor-to-ceiling windows in the spacious living room, so Ms. Hamilton will have light aplenty when she fingers through her recipes. She will be able to ponder new culinary creations from the spacious 202-square-foot master bedroom, which features an integrated mini-office and a walk-in closet. The home includes two additional bedrooms and three full bathrooms.

Fortunately for Ms. Hamilton, “The kitchen has been customized to take full advantage of space and light with custom lighting, cabinetry, granite countertops, and high-end appliances,” according to a listing by Brown Harris Stevens’ broker Edward Joseph. (Mr. Joseph declined to comment.)

The property was originally listed in March of this year for $4.5 million, but city records show that Ms. Hamilton paid just $4.25 million. The previous owners, Amit and Tamar Avnet, bought the condo back in 2008, paying $3.85 million at the time. The couple lists their current address as 241 Central Park West.
