Judge to rule on Lewis case before Sept. 8th deadline

U.S. District Judge Noel Hillman today said he will rule before a Sept. 8th deadline  on whether LD8 Democratic candidate Carl Lewis can run for elected office in New Jersey.

Earlier this week, Secretary of State (And Lieutenant Governor) Kim Guadagno ruled not to certify Lewis as a general election candidate based on residency requirements, but the judge said he will wait to issue his ruling sometime before the submission of ballot information is due.

Lewis is challenging incumbent state Sen. Dawn Marie Addiego (R-8) of Evesham.
