Richard St. Paul, a former top aide to Pedro Espada and the current Republican nominee for mayor of the town of New Rochelle, in Westchester County, owes a $5,000 in child support payments to a 3-year-old girl he has never met.
St. Paul failed to appear for three paternity tests following the girl’s birth in February 2008, according to the Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division.
The court wrote in January that the councilman owed the girl’s mother $5,540 in back child support and thousands more in medical bills…
The bulk of that amount is garnished from his wages. St. Paul is supposed to pay the remainder directly to White but, she said, “He has never paid…”
Court records show St. Paul has five children (only one with [the 3-year-old’s mother, Francine Monique White) and has had his wages garnished by the government to pay child support for at least two of them.
