The presidential preference commission in Florida has voted to set the state’s primary for Jan. 31.
Florida’s move will push the primaries in New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina and the Iowa caucuses to at least early January. Today New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner said the move could potentially push the New Hampshire primary into December.
New Hampshire’s primary filing deadline is Oct. 28, just four weeks from today. The early primary schedule means a Chris Christie Presidential campaign has about 15 weeks to show voters he’s a viable alternative to the established front-runners.
Pundits say he can skip Iowa, which could also be as early as December, but a strong showing in one of the remaining three early primaries is paramount to success on the presidential campaign trail.
