Over 250 people turned out Friday night in suppport of U.S. Rep. Albio Sires (D-13), West New York, at the Hudson County congressman’s $500-a-head fundraiser.
Held at Puccini’s Resturant, the event featured speakers State Party Chairman John Wisniewski; Assembly Majority Leader Joe Cryan (D-20); Jersey City Mayor Jerry Healy; County Executive Tom DeGise; state Sen. Nick Sacco (D-32); and Newark Mayor Cory Booker.
His friends raised close to $85,000 for Sires.
Others in attendance included the Hudson Senate and Assembly delegations; state Sen. M. Teresa Ruiz (D-29); Assemblyman Tom Gibin (D-34); Essex County Democratic Committee Chairman Phil Thigpen; and Middlesex County Democratic Chairman Peter Barnes.
Newark North Ward Democratic Party Leader Steve Adubato Sr. also attended the fundraiser.
