Statehouse flooding problems force alternative parking options

TRENTON – The recurring problems of the flooded Statehouse parking garage drew the attention of a state panel today.

In case the state parking garage is closed due to flooding, legislators could park angularly on West State Street.

State Police presented that alternative parking plan before the State Capitol Joint Management Commission meeting today.

By parking at an angle at metered spots, the Alternate Parking Plan states, some 72 cars can be parked there.

The spots would be closer to the museum and Annex.

The plan was discussed with the Trenton Police Department, the Commission was told.
