White Cube, the UK gallery that represents Damien Hirst, Gilbert & George and Christian Marclay among many others, will open a new location in London on October 12 during the Frieze Art Fair, according to Artforum. The gallery will be the largest of White Cube’s London branches with a whopping 58,000 square feet of floor space. It will be located on Bermondsey Street in South London and will be called, appropriately, White Cube Bermondsey.
White Cube’s Jay Jopling had this to say in a statement: “I’m immensely excited by the opportunities it will give us to expand the range and ambition of all aspects of our program, not least the chance to make even more quality exhibitions with world class artists.”
This comes after the news this summer that White Cube will open a branch in Hong Kong next year.
